Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became the capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges

This morning, depart for a half-day trek to Tsomgo Lake (12400 feet), which is approximately 32 kilometres from Gangtok City. Tsomgo Lake is about 1 kilometre long and 15 metres deep. Locals consider the lake sacred, and 12 kilometres away lies the Baba Harvajan Singh Mandir (New). Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Stopover in Gangtok for the night

Pick up from your hotel in Gangtok after breakfast and drive to Lachen (117 KM). En route, stop at Singhik View Point (weather permitting) and Naga Water Falls. Please check into your hotel. Lachen is a good place to spend the night.
