About the Trip
Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.

Visit Tiger Hill (sunrise point over Mt. Khanchendzongna) around 4 a.m., subject to permit availability, and Ghoom Monastery on the way back. After breakfast, visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the P.N. Zoological Park (closed on Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, the Tea Garden (outside view), Pace Pagoda, Japanese Temple, and the Rope Way (Ticket Guest Own). Return to the hotel in the afternoon and walk to the famous mall road to do some shopping. Darjeeling is where we will spend the night.

Transfer to Kalimpong after breakfast. Begin your half-day city trip in Kalimpong by visiting Mangal Dham, Delo Hill, Dr. Graham's Home, and Flowers Nursery. Check into your accommodation and spend the rest of the day as you choose. Kalimpong is where we will spend the night.

Proceed to Gangtok after breakfast. Arrive at your hotel and check-in. The afternoon half-day city tour includes stops at the BonJhakri Waterfalls, the Flower Show, the Handicraft Center Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), and Do-dul-Chorten. The evening is yours to do as you like. Stopover in Gangtok for the night.

This morning, depart for a half-day trek to Tsomgo Lake (12400 feet), which is approximately 32 km from Gangtok City. Tsomgo Lake is about 1 kilometre long and 15 metres deep. Locals consider the lake sacred, and 12 kilometres away lies the Baba Harvajan Singh Mandir (New). Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Stopover in Gangtok for the night
